Trusted Companies

This is a list of companies that I adore and trust. They produce products I use on a consistent basis and am fascinated by their creativity or impressed by their design and function. Sometimes Customer Service is brilliant too. I know how scary buying from Indie companies are as there are so many horror stories about them, so this is a list of companies I've deemed safe through my own experience. I've also included some of my top favourite shades or products from each of the brands listed. Hope this is helpful!

  • Fyrinnae: their shadows are the best! Super pigmented and consistently awesome. Plus their Pixie Epoxy helps out shadows and fall out like no other. I highly recommend the shadows Wicked, Faerie Glamour, Rupuntzel Had Extensions, Jade Ghost, Javan Rhino, Fire Opal, and Polar Bear. Their fluff powder and silica gel primer rocks too. Plus they're Vegan!
  • Haus of Gloi: these are some of the nicest bath and scent products I've tried ever. That they're vegan, they ship quickly and they release seasonal collections is just icing on the cake! I love the Depravity Perfume Oil as well as Hex, and Imp perfume oils. I love the lightness and subtle scent the body emulsions/pumpkin butters have and the sugar scrubs are scrumptious and decadent in how well they work. Plus they now have an excellent make your own perfume option.
  • Urban Decay: This is the brand that really got me into make-up. Kind-of expensive but totally worth it. Their eyeshadows are so so smooth and pigmented. I love my Book of Shadows. (Don't rec. the glitter shades though- too much fall out). Their 24/7 eyeshadow pencils are fantastic in pigmentation and staying power and the 24/7 liners are so soft and last decently too. Some of my favourite e/s shades are Lounge, Mary Jane, Sellout, Sin, Homegrown, Gunmetal, and Mushroom. Plus they have a good selection of solely Vegan options.
  • Cult Nails: I have fallen head over heels for this brand. Cult Nails is Maria of R3Daily blog's brainchild and not only is she a extremely approachable and friendly person her colour sense and eye for detail and perfection has launched her and her polishes into some of my favourite polishes that I own. I highly recommend Living Water, Iconic and Both Wicked Fast Top Coat and Get it On Base coat.
  • Morgana Cryptoria: This gothic themed shop is another of my favourite indie stores. Though they have a nice variety of shadows, the real gems are the Vegan Lipsticks. Long wearing, light weight and intensely pigmented these rock. Plus they're available in so many colours you'll never get bored. Morgana Cryptoria has some vegan products and some non-vegan products but it will clearly say which is which.
  • Blinc: These guys make my favourite mascara! I wear it all the time and it is the only thing that lasts through yoga, biking, crying, allergies and boredom eye rubs. It doesn't flake, smear or smudge and it comes off with hot water in little clumps. I've not tried anything else by these guys but I'm never going to find a better tubing mascara I don't think! (You can read my full review on this mascara here).
  • Darling Girl Cosmetics: This is one of the indie shops I've just gotten a chance to try and I've fallen hard and fast! Her eyeshadows are unique, her Kiss Me Off lip balms are good and her glosses are sparkles galore! Not to mention the decadent sugar lip scrub and moisturizing cream blush. Plus Susan is really really sweet, such a joy to converse with on Twitter!
  • EcoTools: These brushes are the nicest that I own and they're cheap to boot. Super soft synthetic bristles that clean easy, with recycled aluminum ferrels. The bamboo handles are not only sustainable but sleek and have enough weight to them to make them easy to use. I love my angled liner brush, mini kabuki, full size kabuki and eyeshadow brushes. Plus, EcoTools gives 1% of all it's profits to For The Earth charity.
  • Tom's of Maine: Their toothpaste not only does the job it does it well! It tastes sweet and I think it actually helps heal up my mouth. You can read my full review here by clicking the name of the brand. The best things about Tom's of Maine though is all their charity efforts. They're Vegan, and Cruelty-Free (I believe they are owned by a company that animal tests now though, but they are fairly independent to my knowledge). Every ingredient used in every product they create is listed with it's purpose on the website and they make sure they get all their ingredients from reliable sources. In addition they also have 5% of their work days as volunteer hours, and give 10% of their profits to charity.
  • Venomous Cosmetics: This company is one of the rare indie businesses that sells pressed eyeshadows. Not only are her loose and pressed eyeshadows so unique and constantly changing, but her Lip Poison glosses are DEVINE! I love these glosses so much. Smooth, non-sticky, long lasting, so pigmented, moisturizing! These to me are the best glosses I've ever tried.
